Kate and Derek’s Ouray, Colorado wedding day weather forecast called for snow, rain, sleet and clouds. Such is life in the mountains. (With the amount of moisture we’ve gotten here on the Western Slope this year, the weather wasn’t a total surprise.) Not even rain could put a damper on the beauty of this gorgeous couple’s special day. The couple, vendors and guests were all total troopers and made it work despite the unpredictable weather. The snow actually added an ethereal, magical element to the day!
A few fun tidbits:
The bride wore a necklace that has been passed down for generations dating back to the Victorian era. Her dress is a family heirloom as well, tailored to fit her and to show off her stilettos. The groom carved the bride’s wooden ring box and also created an incredibly custom hexagonal arch for their ceremony. This was the first event held at Citizen State Bank Ouray’s new rooftop venue. What a way to kick it off!
I so loved getting to know Kate and Derek a bit better on their wedding day. I’m very happy for this beautiful couple.
As always, I’m very honored and grateful for the opportunity to work with an amazing team of local Ouray County vendors.
