Ouray, Colorado Summer Mountain Wedding

Nadia and Chad got married at the very top of Red Mountain Pass, which is between Ouray and Silverton on the Western Slope of Colorado. The pass is also known as the Million Dollar Highway and it’s one of the most daunting drives in the US. I’ve been known to white knuckle my way through it. (Pro tip: time your journey on this pass so you’re not making the drive in the dark!) This location makes sense for these two. Chad is a mountain guide and and world traveler and the couple has spent the last few winters skiing together in the San Juans. The couple kept their wedding party simple, saying their vows surrounded by just family and a few close friends.  Their reception was held in the newly built, modern-meets-rustic home of the owners of Red Mountain Alpine Lodge. After the ceremony, we caught sunset in the hills overlooking some truly epic mountains. Ouray County = paradise.  Fun fact: Nadia handmade her dress, the flower girl’s dress, the ring bearer’s pillow and the cake.
Congrats Nadia and Chad! I loved getting to know you and am so honored to have been your wedding photographer.
